What you can expect
You Journey Begins Here
You'll start your journey at NPX with an assigned role, working closely with a team lead.
Typically, you'll remain in this position for 4 to 12 months or until the project reaches a natural break.
This initial period allows you to immerse yourself in a specific area, gaining deep expertise and making meaningful contributions.

Experience Multiple Roles
New grads at NPX are encouraged to explore 2-3 different roles within your first 24 months.
This program is crafted to help you build a diverse set of skills and gain comprehensive insights into various aspects of our business.
By rotating through multiple roles, you'll develop a robust professional foundation, preparing you for a dynamic and successful career.

My experience at NPX was unexpectedly all-encompassing. Despite starting as a project management intern, NPX's culture encouraged broad engagement. I've worked across departments, received valuable feedback, and made significant contributions. This environment made me feel like a valued team member rather than just an intern.
I've deepened my knowledge of nuclear energy and aerospace, aligning with my passion for nuclear-space applications. NPX's nuclear-space project, the X-Program, particularly excited me during my interview and influenced my decision to join.
Throughout my internship, I've been involved in diverse projects, from studies at Bruce Power to organizing a company-wide hackathon and developing prototypes. NPX is driving positive change in nuclear energy, and I encourage others to join this innovative journey.

Working on the design engineering team, I had the opportunity to engage in a variety of projects & responsibilities that pushed me to grow both technically & professionally. The team’s commitment to continuous improvement, highlighted during our CAKE days where we meet to discuss the growth & development of our team, has been particularly inspiring.
This internship has significantly enhanced my project management, design, & document drafting skills, as well as my ability to manage client relationships. It has also given me a deep understanding of the nuclear industry & the pivotal role that a mechanical engineer can play.

How to Join NPX as a New Grad
NPX typically recruits students for three work terms: Winter (January - April), Spring (May - August), and Fall (September - December). We also offer 1-year work term opportunities.
