Our student program not only provides real-world work experience but also introduces you to the vibrant NPX culture. Interns are encouraged to participate in company community initiatives and events, fully integrating into the NPX family.

Whether you join us for a 4-month or a 1-year internship, you'll engage in critical projects and gain practical experience. We welcome students pursuing diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, or PhDs in both technical and non-technical fields, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to meaningful work as an NPX Innovation Catalyst Intern.

You'll have opportunities to contribute to innovative projects, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility.

Internship Opportunities

At NPX, we offer students the chance to kickstart their careers through our structured internship program. We typically recruit for three work terms each year:

Winter: January - April
Spring: May - August
Fall: September - December

We also offer 1-year work term opportunities for students.

With a successful internship at NPX, there's a chance we’ll welcome you back as a New Grad!

My experience at NPX was unexpectedly all-encompassing. Despite starting as a project management intern, NPX's culture encouraged broad engagement. I've worked across departments, received valuable feedback, and made significant contributions. This environment made me feel like a valued team member rather than just an intern.

I've deepened my knowledge of nuclear energy and aerospace, aligning with my passion for nuclear-space applications. NPX's nuclear-space project, the X-Program, particularly excited me during my interview and influenced my decision to join.

Throughout my internship, I've been involved in diverse projects, from studies at Bruce Power to organizing a company-wide hackathon and developing prototypes. NPX is driving positive change in nuclear energy, and I encourage others to join this innovative journey.

My experience at NPX has been both challenging & rewarding. Working on the design engineering team, I had the opportunity to engage in a variety of projects & responsibilities that pushed me to grow both technically & professionally. The team’s commitment to continuous improvement, highlighted during our CAKE days where we meet to discuss the growth & development of our team, has been particularly inspiring.

This internship has significantly enhanced my project management, design, & document drafting skills, as well as my ability to manage client relationships. It has also given me a deep understanding of the nuclear industry & the pivotal role that a mechanical engineer can play.

NPX’s collaborative and innovative environment has been instrumental in my growth, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an impactful field.

My experience at NPX exceeded all my expectations. During my internship, I gained technical skills, built lasting mentor relationships, and developed an innovative mindset that I will carry forward.

I was encouraged to learn and explore, working on projects from data manipulation and dashboard creation to experimenting with AI and optimizing processes. I even had the unique chance to research nuclear energy reactors in space. The supportive environment made me feel valued and trusted to contribute meaningfully.
